About AskFix

Updated 14 July 2026

AskFix exists for one simple idea: home repair shouldn't be scary.

When something breaks at home, most people have the same moment — a mix of not knowing and being slightly afraid. You don't know if it's a small problem or a big one, you don't know whether it's even safe to touch, and you don't know whether the tradesman is going to overcharge you. So you put it off. And the tap drips for two months.

AskFix exists to break that loop. Photograph the problem with your phone, and it tells you what it is, what's wrong with it, and what to do — in plain language, free, with no sign-up.

We teach you to fix it — we don't sell you a tradesman

AskFix is a self-help product. The goal is that you fix it yourself and save a call-out fee on a thirty-minute job.

But not everything can be fixed at home — and some things you should not be touching at all. When you reach that point, AskFix tells you plainly to stop, and points you to a professional.

We take no commission for that. We make no bookings, broker nothing, and collect no money. We give you a number; you make the call. We are not competing with tradesmen — we're connecting people to them.

So how do we make money?

From a small affiliate commission on parts and tools if you buy them through our links (at no extra cost to you). There is not a single ad inside the diagnosis experience or on the result card — that space is deliberately clean, and it will stay that way.

We'd rather say that outright than bury it. The full detail is in the privacy policy.

Safety comes first

There are cases where AskFix refuses to give you repair steps at all: gas, mains electrical work, and structural faults. That refusal isn't a gap in the service — it's the most important part of it. Any product that teaches people to fix things that can hurt them has to know when to stop.

Privacy

AskFix stores no photos. The image goes to Google Gemini to be analysed (Google: not trained on, not retained), and AskFix itself discards it immediately. Voice is transcribed on our own server and sent to nobody. There's no account, no login — we don't know who you are.

Who's behind it

AskFix is built by Zeta Pegasi Labs Pte. Ltd. (Singapore) and Al-Maseer Software (Jordan), which build AI products for everyday life.
