Terms of Use
AskFix is a service provided by Zeta Pegasi Labs Pte. Ltd. (Singapore) and Al-Maseer Software (Jordan). By using the site or the app, you agree to the following.
1. What AskFix is — and what it isn't
AskFix is a guidance tool that helps you understand a household fault and, where it's safe, fix it yourself. It is not a licensed tradesman, not a substitute for an on-site inspection, not a marketplace, and it makes no bookings and brokers nothing.
2. Safety — the most important clause here
Some household work is dangerous. AskFix is designed to refuse to give DIY steps in the following cases, and to direct you to a professional or the emergency services instead:
- Gas leaks, in every form
- Mains electrical work — wiring inside walls, distribution boards
- Structural faults
- Anything the system judges could injure you
That refusal is not a shortcoming of the service — it is the service. When AskFix tells you to stop and call a professional, it means stop, literally.
You are responsible for judging your own competence. If you are not comfortable with a step, don't do it. Nothing on this site is worth an injury.
3. Accuracy
The diagnosis is based on a photo and a description — not an on-site inspection. It can be wrong. It can misread a model number, and it can misdiagnose a fault. Treat the result as a useful first opinion, not a final truth. When in doubt, check the appliance's manual or ask a technician.
The guides are written in general terms and describe common cases. Your appliance may differ. The manufacturer's own manual overrides anything written here.
4. Limitation of liability
AskFix is provided 'as is'. To the extent permitted by law, the providers accept no liability for any loss, damage or injury arising from your following the guidance on this site, or from any work performed by a technician you found through it. The decision to act is yours, and you act at your own risk.
5. Technicians — no commission, no warranty
When we show you a technician or a maintenance company, we are showing you contact information only.
- We take no commission on any work you agree with them.
- We make no bookings, broker nothing, and collect no money.
- The agreement — on price, scope and warranty — is directly between you and them.
- We do not warrant any technician's work and accept no responsibility for it. Do your own checks, ask for an invoice, and don't pay the full amount up front.
6. Affiliate links
The guide pages carry affiliate links for parts and tools (to stores such as Shopee, Lazada and noon). We may earn a commission if you buy through one, at no extra cost to you. AskFix runs no advertising. Details in the privacy policy.
We do not control the products of external retailers, and we are not responsible for their quality or delivery.
7. Manuals and video
AskFix searches for and links to manuals and videos at their original sources — it does not host or republish any of them. Those materials remain the property of their rights holders.
8. Acceptable use
Don't use AskFix for any unlawful purpose, don't upload photos of people or content unrelated to a household fault, and don't attempt to technically abuse the service.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top of the page shows when they were last changed.
